Atlanta Linux Showcase Officials Announce Record Breaking Vendor Registration 

Atlanta, GA - Atlanta Linux Showcase officials, members of the Atlanta-based
Linux Users Group, the Atlanta Linux Enthusiasts, today announced record
breaking vendor registration. Over 60 leading Linux companies will be
exhibiting on the show floor featuring product demonstrations and new product
announcements. The record breaking vendor registration will make the 1998
Atlanta Linux Showcase the largest single gathering of exhibiting Linux
vendors anywhere.

Atlanta Linux Showcase is the technology event where prominent industry
vendors showcase their latest solutions for the Linux operating system. The
1998 Atlanta Linux Showcase is being held at the Atlanta Apparel Mart in
Atlanta, Georgia on October 23 and 24, 1998.

Featuring two full days of technical, advocacy and business talks, the 1998
Atlanta Linux Showcase will be an event computer professionals and Linux end
users cannot afford to miss.  VARs, IT professionals and technical management
decision makers will find everything they need to make wise decisions for
building Linux solutions within their organizations.  Also featured at this
year's ALS will be:

* Keynote addresses by Dr. Michael Cowpland, President and CEO of Corel
Corporation and Allen Miner, VP of Strategic Business Development of Oracle

* Linux in Action, a dedicated area where attendees can gain hands-on
experience working with a variety of Linux software on multiple platforms

* Live Linux installation demos as well as a question-and-answer session

* Free Birds of a Feather sessions nightly

* Fund-raiser dinner 

Atlanta Linux Showcase registration is open through October 24, 1998 and may
be accessed on-line, http://www.ale.org/showcase/. Attendees may also
register on-site October 22 through October 24. Conference packages may be
purchased for $75/day ($50/day for students and seniors). Exhibition hall
admission is free of charge.

The Atlanta Linux Enthusiasts are an Atlanta-based Linux users group
dedicated to promoting the use of Linux, and have been active in the metro
Atlanta area since 1995.  The Atlanta Linux Showcase is a not-for-profit
event.
